Michael J. His certification as an AIFA qualifies him to conduct independent fiduciary reviews for those concerned about their responsibilities investing the assets of endowments and foundations, ERISA retirement plans, private family trusts, public employee retirement plans as well as high net worth individuals. Michael has also been featured as one of the “Most Experienced Independent Financial Advisors” by BusinessWeek in 2009 and one of the “ 150 Best Financial Advisors for Doctors” by Medical Economics in each of their bi-annual reports published in 2002-2006 and again in their 2011 annual report.

Michael has served as President of the Kansas City Chapter of the FPA (Financial Planning Association) as well as Vice President of Education and Training. In addition, he has served as an adjunct faculty member for the College for Financial Planning and the University of Missouri at Kansas City, as Education Chairman and President for the Kansas City Chapter of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and as an advisory board member to the National Committee of the International Association for Financial Planning.
He was a contributing expert and author for the books WEALTH Enhancement & Preservation, Inside the Minds: Wealth Strategies, The Malpractice Time Bomb: How to Prevent and Survive a Medical Malpractice Suit, Happily Ever After...Expert Advice for Achieving the Retirement of Your Dreams, and Financial Savvy for the Small Business Owner. He was interviewed and contributed his knowledge of fiduciary standards of care for the book The Trust Equation: The Savvy Investors Guide To Selecting a Competent, Ethical Financial Advisor. He also authored the book Searcy on Educated Investing.
Michael has also served as a contributing guest columnist for the Johnson County Business Times, M.D. News, The Oxford Club Quarterly, The Metropolitan Medical Society Bulletin, Women&Cancer Magazine, KC Small Business Monthly and Ingram’s.
In addition, he is a member of the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy, and a former board member for the St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, Downey Side Adoption Agency and SAFEHOME. Michael has been a Rotarian since 1995.
Michael enjoys barbequing with his family, bicycling and running. He has completed multiple marathons, including one in Antarctica.
