Jessica is the vice president of Searcy Financial Services, Inc. She began working for the firm in 2001 after moving back to the Kansas City area from Washington D.C. where she earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Marketing from The American University.
As a speaker, Jessica participated in both TD Ameritrade’s 2010 and 2011 National Conferences and 2010 Fall Regional Conference where she contributed to 5 separate panels on various topics covering operations, human capital, social media, and helping advisors grow their retirement plan business. She was also a speaker in the 2009 and 2011 “T3” Technology Tools for Today Conference where she shared with financial advisors how to utilize technology to build a high performance team and efficient practice.
As an author, she has written several articles and white papers on a broad range of topics from fiduciary risk management for 401(k) plan sponsors to LinkedIn tips for financial advisors. She has also contributed to the authoring of several books including The Trust Equation: The Savvy Investors Guide to Selecting a Competent, Ethical Financial Advisor, as well as Happily Ever After...Expert Advice for Achieving the Retirement of Your Dreams.
Jessica has been included in the Kansas City Star’s prestigious list of “Women to Watch.” She was also named a 2011 “Rising Star” by KC Business Magazine. Jessica served a three-year term on the TD Ameritrade Institutional Operations Panel, alongside directors of other independent advisory firms providing guidance on TD Ameritrade Institutional’s product and service offerings.
As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst™ designee and Professional Plan Consultant™, Jessica’s area of expertise is in helping retirement plan sponsors, foundations, investment committees, and other stewards abide by the Global Standards of Fiduciary Excellence. Jessica is trained as an Independent Fiduciary and is eligible to take on the full scope of authority, discretion and responsibility, and, in effect, manage a retirement plan as the named fiduciary. As a member of The Fiduciary Society for Ethical Financial Practices (FSEFP), Jessica is committed to acting as a fiduciary, with a legal and ethical responsibility to the people and organizations she serves, and to upholding the highest standard of ethical practices in her everyday life.
Jessica is married and has four children ranging in ages from two to eleven years old. She enjoys logic puzzles and reading, creating handmade cards, and a wide variety of cuisine.
